freshman year of college I (a simple lesbian) met a gay dude and we instantly clicked and started talking about our childhoods and stuff and discovered we were born in the same hospital on the same day so we became each other’s beards and watched hentai together every weekend

That sentence started and ended in very different places

Leftism teaches you that the most annoying people in the world can have the exact same opinions as you. And they’ll still get on your nerves

Other leftists will say some shit you fundamentally agree with but phrased in a way designed in a lab specifically to piss you off. Like you’re right but shut the fuck up

among us is getting a cartoon: oh, this is gonna be a soulless sanitized kid-friendly cash-grab, probably. maybe it’ll make some little kids happy, at least?

the showrunner is owen dennis, creator of infinity train: oh, this is gonna be an animated version of The Thing, basically

these are all small skittish creatures that love to bite and are found in drawers of garages and classrooms. they’re all related and in the same small biter family. weird little kids who play with them while they’re distracted and have empathy for them can tame them and become these beasts companions

Thank the Lord someone understands

I hate that planned obsolescence is starting to reach fandoms. I hate that fandoms are starting to die after two, three years, I hate that whenever you stop getting content that means the fandom will die and be gone.

I need people to stop trying to brush off old interests as being ‘cringe’ as soon as you lose interest, or worse: make it seem like it’s imoral to like something that they themselves held so dear before.

Fandoms are meant to last for years and years, the moment content stops being created is the moment we truly thrive because we keep creating the content ourselves the way we love it and expand on the things that are already there for us.

I don’t care if you lost interest on something, it’s fine and normal even, but stop trying to blame and make fun of people who still do love the fandom and the content and the things we can create.

I need people to enjoy fandom again

I see people talking about the Brave browser in the whole Firefox vs chrome debate, and while people rightly point out that it’s just chromium and that they do shady cryptocurrency shit, I never see anyone point out that Brave’s founder and CEO is Brandan Eich.

He founded Brave after massive protests against him becoming CEO of Mozilla, resigning after 11 days. And the reason for those protests? He donated a lot of money to the Prop 8 campaign to ban gay marriage.

So just remember: it’s not just another chromium fork, it’s not just a browser with cryptocurrency bullshit, it’s also the browser founded by a homophobe because he got kicked out of his former organization for being a homophobe.

Also, he invented Javascript. I’m willing to believe that maybe he has grown on the gay marriage issue, and made amends for his former mistakes. But Javascript cannot be forgiven.
